My Guide Abroad · Bali
Who writes My Guide Abroad.
A small, independent Bali guide — written slowly, checked against the official sources, and paid for, partly, by the few affiliate links we’re happy to put our name to.
Why this exists
I’m Flo, a digital nomad who fell for Bali and lived there for five years. Most Bali advice is either a top-ten list or a sales page. I wanted something in between: the practical things you actually need to sort before you land, and the places that make the island worth the long flight. My Guide Abroad is that guide — the one I’d hand a friend.
How we write
Every practical guide starts from what we’ve seen on the ground and the official sources behind it: the immigration site, the levy platform, the airport. Rules change, so each guide carries the date it was last checked. If something is out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it.
How the site is paid for
Some links on My Guide Abroad are affiliate links: if you book through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We only link to things we’d use ourselves, and a commission never decides what goes in a guide. Read exactly how we earn.
The AI Guide
The AI Guide turns your answers into a personal Bali guide, built from our field notes and checked before it goes out. It’s free and in beta, which means we read every brief and keep improving it. Try it.
