Your data, kept small.
We collect as little as we can, only to send you what you asked for, and we never sell it. Here is exactly what that means.
Who we are
My Guide Abroad is an independent travel guide to Bali. For anything about your data, contact us here.
What we collect, and why
The Bali Letter
Your email address, so we can send the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe from any letter in one click.
The AI Guide
Your answers to the guide questions, your first name if you give it, and your email address — so we can build your guide and send it to you. If you tick the box, we also send you the occasional field note.
Messages you send us
Your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
Visits to the site
Anonymous statistics about page views, collected by our website platform so we know which guides are useful. We don’t use advertising trackers.
Who helps us process it
Our website platform (Framer), which hosts the site and receives form submissions; our email provider, which sends the newsletter and your guide; and an AI model provider (Anthropic), which helps draft your personal guide from your answers. Each one only gets what it needs for that job.
Affiliate partners
When you follow an affiliate link to a partner such as GetYourGuide or SafetyWing, that partner may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. Their privacy policies then apply. Read how affiliate links work.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. AI Guide briefs for up to twelve months, so we can answer questions about your guide and improve the next ones. Messages for as long as the conversation needs.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to stop receiving emails, at any time. Just write to us and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top.
