How we earn

Last updated 27 October 2026

How this site pays for itself.

The short version: some links earn us a small commission, you never pay more because of it, and it never decides what we recommend.

Affiliate links, in plain words

When you click certain links on My Guide Abroad and then book or buy something, the company on the other side may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to them directly. These links are marked on the page — usually with a line saying so right above them — and they carry a “sponsored” tag for search engines.

Who we work with

GetYourGuide, for tours, day trips and airport transfers. SafetyWing, for travel insurance. A visa agency for applications that need a specialist — we name it on the visa guide once the partnership is in place. We add a partner only after we’ve used them or checked them properly ourselves.

What a commission never buys

A place in a guide, a better review, or silence about a problem. If something we recommend stops being good, it comes off the list — commission or not.

The AI Guide

Your personal guide may include some of the same affiliate links, where they help. They are marked in the guide too. The AI Guide itself is free.
